The OHAFC 3rd XI earned their third consecutive League victory on Saturday - a new record for the side since their reformation in 2012. The abrupt turnaround in fortunes since the opening day 6-0 hammering by Malvern has seen the side climb up to third in Division Five South, with the visit of second-placed Shirburnians next up on the cards.

The team started Saturday's game well, adjusting quickly to the tricky artificial surface at the Southfields Aspire Centre in south Wandsworth where last season they played superbly to win 4-1.

Tommy Faber scored the deserved opener after 25 minutes, firing home from just inside the box following a neat build-up.

Ned Callander doubled the lead just before the break, comfortably rounding the 'keeper following a fine through-ball from skipper Nick Kapoor.

The second half proved tougher to negotiate than the first however, as play became scrappy and more balanced. Thankfully, striker Alex Smith ended all hope of a Wimbledon resurgence when he tapped in from close range following a corner.

The hosts did reduce the deficit to two again straight away when stand-in goalkeeper Oli Walker temporarily forgot he was able to use his hands and allowed a soft effort to beat him.

But Charlie Bick then fired home from 25 yards out to restore the three-goal lead and seal the win. Bizarrely, Wimbledon again scored straight from the kick-off as Harrow's concentration flipped back to 'Off'.

It was another deserved win for the team and there were a number of solid performances throughout the team, notably Faber, Fogarty and Bick and the central defensive duo of Connor Barrett and Harry Turner.

Next week the visit of second-placed Shirburnians to the Hill will provide an excellent measure of the progress the team has made this season - a repeat of the 3-0 win back in September and the team can start to dream of a first ever promotion challenge.
