2016 2nd XI Player Trophy Results

7 Jul 2016

The final 2015/16 2nd XI Player League Trophy standings have been revealed by skipper Geoff Taunton-Collins. And he's delighted to announce it's a resounding win for, er, skipper Geoff Taunton-Collins!

'Super Geoff', as he's aptly become known amongst his happy throng, carefully spent his Saturday evenings throughout the season allocating the 2s squad marks depending on their appearances, goals and assists as well as other interesting OHAFC activity, such as how many times they washed the team kit and whether or not they went on tour.

At the end of the season, Geoff locked himself away in a dark room and developed a spreadsheet to calculate just how much of legend he truly is. The answer was just the one he expected: he's truly super.

Geoffrey amassed 74.5 points, practically one and a half times as many as runner-up, leading striker Jack Alhadeff. Vice-captain Azhar Khan was third on 47 points, with Max Curry fourth on 45.5.

A total of 49 players represented the 2s last season and everyone is graded according to their contribution, right down to the five brave souls who turned out once for the 2s, did nothing during the game, failed to wash the kit, didn't play for another team all season and neglected to go on tour.

Next year some tweaks to the format are promised, with Super Geoff keen to design new ways to showcase his vast superiority over his squad...rumours of a mark out of ten for dashing good looks have so far proved unfounded but it is understood to be one of many items on Super G's wishlist...
