2s handed lesson on opening day

The OHAFC 2nd XI were put to the sword by a superb Old Alleynians on Saturday on the opening weekend of the Arthurian League season.

Despite the sides being separated by just a solitary goal's worth of goal difference in Division Three last season, there was an enormous gulf apparent on the new Harrow School astroturf as the hosts were unable to cope with the movement and passing of the opposition.

The visitors raced into a four-goal lead inside half an hour before a shell-shocked Harrow side adopted a more defensive approach in a bid to limit the damage.

The switch had the desired effect, although two superb late goals gave the scoreline a more realistic look as the visitors continued to play football of the highest quality.

The match report makes somewhat grim reading but nevertheless is now available in the results section here.

Geoff Taunton-Collins' men now have a week off before they return to action with a second fixture on astroturf, this time away to KCS Wimbledon 2s.
