Late Smith penalty earns 3s a point in season finale

2 May 2017

A controversial penalty a minute from time allowed the OHAFC 3s to end their season on a relatively high note with a 2-2 draw at Westminster 2s in Uxbridge.

Fielding players that have represented all three Saturday teams this season, the Blues struggled in the first half and found themselves 2-0 down at the break, Westminsters' excellent striker scoring both goals.

But the visitors improved markedly after the break, dominating proceedings. Oli Walker scored Harrow's first on the hour and Alex Smith then had a great chance to level but saw his shot well saved by the 'keeper.

A minute from time Jesse Duah just beat the 'keeper to the ball and after a few seconds deliberation referee Richard Wilson pointed to the spot, the Westminster players convinced the foul had taken place outside the box.

Undeterred, Smith confidently slotted the spot-kick home to ensure a share of the spoils in a surprisingly feisty encounter.

The team lineup and match report from the 3s final game of the season is now available in the results section here.
