Vets recover from sloppy start to progress

16 Jan 2018

The OHAFC Veterans made heavy work of beating ten-man Repton in the first round of the Derrick Moore Veterans Cup on Sunday morning, but eventually overran their tiring opponents to emerge 5-2 victors.

The OHAFC will now face a trip to Chigwell in the quarter-finals.

Repton, despite only having ten players, actually started the better and scored twice early on courtesy of two defensive blunders.

Harrow replied with a superb team goal of their own but it was an isolated moment of quality in a first half littered with errors and rushed football.

The second half proved more enjoyable, for the hosts at least, as spaces began to open up and Harrow's superior quality began to shine through. Harry Hoffen scored twice more to complete his hat-trick, with Dom Danos converting from the spot and Alex Gray notching his first ever OHAFC Vets goal.

Sunday's team lineup from the Bank of England plus the match report are now available in the results section here.
