On a very warm evening, the OHAFC 1st XI returned to Colliers Wood for another challenging pre-season friendly against Premier League opposition, Tonbridge.

After a few late drop outs, the men in blue arrived with twelve, the prospect of three Barrett's attending was quickly dashed by a late work call up for Connor.

Harrow started well, playing up the hill with the more traditional 442 formation, Alex Breeden making the 'traditional switch' from centre back last week, to the number 10 position this week. Doug Morrison was very lively on the right flank, supported by Will Swan at full back, combining well with the returning Alex Gilbert, back in his traditional striker position.

Similar to last week and despite emphasising this before, Harrow pressed too high, allowing Tonbridge's midfield too much time and space to spread the play. After a number of early chances that were saved or blocked by the Harrow defence, Tonbridge broke down their left flank, getting to the by-line and drilling a dangerous ball across the box. After some unfortunate ricochets, the ball bobbled back off of the far post from an OH defender, only to be tapped in by a grateful Tonbridge winger.

Harrow responded well, dropping off the high press and continuing to threaten through Morrison on the right flank and looking dangerous at set pieces. A number of attempts from Hill, Gilbert and Breeden came close, the latter with a close range header at the back post from a corner.

An encouraging half time team talk was had and skipper McGuinness assured the side more chances would follow. This quickly materialised with Owen-Edmunds levelling the scores early on after some great hold up play from Gilbert on the edge of the box. The striker slid a good ball through to Cyprian who produced a two-touch finish across the keeper into the bottom corner.

However, despite Tonbridge allowing the Blues' midfield of Hill and now Swan more time on the ball, against the run of play and amidst some defensive chaos, the ball landed to the Tonbridge striker in the box who hit an excellent shot across McGuinness and just inside the far post. 2-1.

Tonbridge were unlucky not to extend their lead. A great through ball from midfield gave their striker a one-on-one with McGuinness and after a sharp save down to his right, the rebound fell to another Tonbridgian who saw saw his effort cleared off the line by an astutely positioned Callum Barrett.

Harrow persevered and Doug Morrison was rewarded with a goal after pressurising the Tonbridge back four. Doug was able to nick the ball off the Tonbridge centre back inside the penalty area, cut in and, showing great composure, planted the ball inside the near post to make it 2-2 with 10 minutes to play.

Although the game was starting to lack pace, Harrow continued to press and demonstrate their superior fitness levels. Having switched to the right flank, some great work by Alex Breeden culminated in a driven cross which found Owen-Edmunds who coolly finished through the keeper's legs to take the victory.

A pleasing first win for new captain, Fraser McGuinness with excellent contributions across the squad.
