Mike Okoigun

biography

A superb athlete at School, Mike broke the 100m record clocking an impressive 10.6 seconds at the age of 18. Although not quite as quick now, he has maintained his impressive physique and is one of the most physically imposing strikers in the Arthurian League.

The OHAFC served him well between the years of 2005-2010, where he enjoyed a good striking partnership with Dave Stead in the 2nd XI. The pair terrorised defences in Divisions 4 and 5 and were largely responsible for the side's rise to Division 3 in 2006/07.

After falling behind to Chigwell 2s in the JLC Final in 2006, Mike scored the equaliser, allowing Harrow to go on and win after extra time.

Following a lengthy absence from OH football, Mike returned to the club for the 2015/16 season under new 2nd XI skipper Geoff Taunton-Collins. He played five times for the side, scoring his only goal on the Harrow School astroturf against Sennockians, coming off the bench to score the winner with five minutes remaining. He also made one substitute appearance for the 1st XI.

The following season Mike turned out just once for the 2s, but 2017/18 saw him regain his appetite for the game and he became a regular in the 2s as they battled to stay in Division Two.
