After a confident display in the David Woolcott Trophy a week earlier, the OHAFC 3's returned to League action looking to extend their unbeaten streak to eleven games.

Due to the Barrett twins and a few other defensive regulars being unavailable for the game, rumours were circulating that Chuka Ilogu would be making his long awaited return to the outfield, following some stellar performances in goal. However, after teasing the fans and players with a few warm up sprints and a jog around the pitch, he decided that the terrain, which was heavily waterlogged and muddy, would not be able to take his formidable physique.

As a result Kapoor joined Richards at centre-half, whilst Alec Fogarty continued at right-back and Joss Awdry, who has been enjoying a loan spell at Durham University, returned to left-back to complete the back four.

As was expected due to the conditions, the match began in a fairly scrappy manner. However after a few opening exchanges, the midfield trio consisting of Reading University's most up-and-coming promoter Olly Roberts, Tommy (Ozil) Faber and Charlie (Adam) Bick managed to start controlling the game. With Bick in particular proving that, just like Charlie Adam, he can also do it on a wet and windy day (albeit on a Saturday afternoon in Surrey rather than a Tuesday night in Stoke).

With Ned Callander and Harry Bick attacking on the wings, their pace was causing Epsom problems and just after the half hour mark Harry Bick cut inside, skipped past two defenders, before unleashing a shot into the bottom left hand corner. The goal was followed by what is fast becoming his trademark celebration of kissing the badge. Harrow continued to press for the remainder of the half, but were unable to add to their lead and went into to the break a goal up.

The second half started in a similar vein, with Harrow dictating most of the play. Oscar Gairard had an immediate impact, driving into the opposition box and forcing a good save from their 'keeper. Alex Smith was also very unlucky not to score when his header was cleared off the line. Despite the chances, the second goal remained elusive.

As the second half progressed Epsom started to attack more and piled into the Harrow box at any opportunity. The defence managed to nullify most of the attacks with Ed Richards having another good game and Tom Mitchell doing well on various occasions in confidently coming out to claim the ball.

The opposition did create one clear chance with about 15 minutes remaining when their striker managed to round the 'keeper and turn a shot goalwards, only for Joss Awdry to make a crucial goal line clearance.

Harrow finished the game deserved winners and will be looking to continue their superb run of form against Westminster 2s next week, knowing that two wins from their final three League games will see them crowned Division Five South champions.

The one sour note of the afternoon came with the news that leading striker Alex Smith had fractured his thumb, ruling him out for the next few weeks. He has scored 13 goals in 11 games this season and will be a big miss in the upcoming fixtures.
