2s cling on in Chigwell to stretch unbeaten run

12 Dec 2016

A brave rearguard action from the OHAFC 2nd XI ensured they returned from their longest away trip of the season at Chigwell with their unbeaten run in tact.

That they did was due to some sterling performances from goalkeeper Kyri Pittalis and the rest of the defence, who were under pressure for long spells against an excellent Chigwellian side.

When the visitors scored twice inside the opening ten minutes nothing but victory would have been deemed good enough. But as the game wore on it was Chigwell who took command, passing the ball with much greater assurance and purpose than a struggling Harrow team.

The hosts deservedly levelled before the break and had chances to score several more in the second half but Pittalis was in supreme form between the sticks, making several excellent saves and judging all his interventions perfectly.

The result ensures the Harrow 2s go into 2017 in second place in Division Three with a healthy six-point gap to the teams behind them. Four League fixtures remain and Geoff Taunton-Collins' men know that two wins will almost certainly be good enough to secure promotion to Division Two.

Saturday's team lineup is now available in the results section with the match report to follow shortly.
