3s beat Canfordians to reach DW Trophy semi-finals

The OHAFC 3rd XI progressed into the semi-finals of the David Woolcott Trophy for just the second time in the club's history on Saturday afternoon following a tight 2-1 win away to Division Five strugglers the Old Canfordians.

On an awful pitch in Gunnersbury Park, the visitors had to survive an early scare when a long shot smacked against the foot of the post. But after half an hour the Blues took the lead, Alfie Hayes stooping to head home after Joss Awdry's deflected free-kick had been spilt by the keeper.

Five minutes into the second half Alvin Adefarasin put the visitors in control with a superb left-footed strike from twenty-five yards out that rocketed into the far corner.

But the hosts ensured it was a nervy final ten minutes when they scored with a fine effort from a free-kick. The Blues held on however and can now look forward to a semi-final in early April, with their opponents either Old Brentwoods 3s or Old Merchant Taylors 2s.

Saturday's team sheet and match report are now available in the results section.
