Late goal costs 1st XI in final pre-season friendly

5 Sep 2016

Sloppy defending from a corner cost the OHAFC 1st XI a share of the spoils against KCS Wimbledon in their final pre-season friendly of the summer on Monday night.

Ed Poulter's men trailed midway through the first half as Wimbledon looked much the sharper side.

But the second half saw a turnaround in both teams' fortunes, with Harrow commanding for long spells. Dan Firoozan's curler from the edge of the box looked to have deservedly earnt a draw, but with five minutes remaining the Harrow defence allowed a corner to fly across the six yard box and it was easily turned home at the far post.

Nevertheless, it was an encouraging display from a young side that bodes well for the long season ahead.
