OHAFC Vets hold their nerve to win the Cup

18 Apr 2016

The OHAFC Veterans ensured a happy end to the 2015/16 season for the Club as they fought bravely to hold off a strong Brentwood side and win the Vets Cup for the second time in five seasons at the Bank of England ground on Sunday afternoon.

Ru Hoffen scored on the half hour to give the OHAFC the lead and the side held on despite constant Brentwood pressure in the second half. A fine breakaway goal from Quentin Baker with twenty minutes remaining sealed the win, although further heroics were required at the back with headers twice cleared off the line and one superb save from Jon Ingram maintaining the clean sheet.

John Wyn-Evans lifted the Cup aloft to crown a splendid five years for the side: two Cup wins, one Cup final appearance and one Plate final appearance.
