2nd XI kick off pre-season with handsome win

25 Aug 2017

The OHAFC 2s began preparations for the new season with an encouraging 6-2 win over fellow Division Two side KCS Wimbledon 2s in Hampton on Wednesday night.

In an entertaining game played on an excellent artificial surface, both sides played some decent football in patches with the Harrow side looking consistently dangerous going forwards.

Jack Alhadeff scored a hat-trick, and there was a goal apiece for Phil Berry, playing his first game in nearly a year following an ankle injury, and two newcomers, Will Payne and Josh Adejokun. The pair performed excellently and, if they are available for the majority of the season, will provide skipper Geoff Taunton-Collins with additional firepower for his already burgeoning armoury.

The game was also notable for the first appearance in several seasons of centre-half Simon Maydon, who has recommitted to the cause following his release from extended childcare duties, and Harry Hoffen, making his debut 2nd XI appearance following his retirement from 1s football at the end of last season.

Wednesday's match report is now available in the results section here with many of the players back in action on Tuesday in an intra-club friendly at Colliers Wood FC (Wibbandune).
