2s fall short despite fine second half

16 Oct 2017

The OHAFC 2nd XI again found themselves trailing at the break and again produced a stirring second half display but once more fell just short in their quest to earn a first League point of the season, losing 2-1 to Lancing 2s on Saturday.

Lancing scored twice in quick succession midway through the first half, the opener from the spot following a particularly unfortunate call against Simon Maydon.

But Harrow rallied after the break, the switch to two up front unquestionably helping the side, and they pulled a goal back with a superb Jack Alhadeff effort, the striker volleying Lederman's long ball in from the edge of the box.

Phil Berry was then carried off with a broken wrist after an awkward fall - the defender has already undergone surgery to repair the fracture - and despite dominating the closing stages, the visitors couldn't find a way through to snatch a deserved equaliser, Connor Barrett coming closest with two headers at the far post.

The defeat leaves the OHAFC 2s rooted to the foot of the Division Two table and still searching for their first point of the season.
