OHAFC 3s close in on title with narrow win

5 Feb 2018

The OHAFC 3s continued their seemingly unstoppable march towards the Division Five South title with a narrow 1-0 win away to Old Epsomian 2s on Saturday.

On a poor pitch in Kingston, the Blues had to battle hard to earn the three points, the win coming courtesy of an excellent goal from Harry Bick ten minutes before the break. Bick cut inside past two Epsomians before placing a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Despite dominating for long spells the visitors failed to add to their tally and were indebted to an excellent goalline clearance from Joss Awdry to maintain their lead.

The win, along with Malvern 2s withdrawing from the Division, means that with three League games remaining Nick Kapoor's men need just three points to finish top. They would then face a two-legged play-off (TBC) against a Division Five North side to earn promotion into Division Four.
