3s march on thanks to late late show

30 Oct 2017

An OHAFC 3rd XI containing no less than three sets of brothers safely completed the League double over Shirburnians on Saturday, in the process moving the side into second in Division Five South of the Arthurian League.

The win was the side's fourth in a row - a record since the 3rd XI's reformation in 2012 - but was far harder than the 3-1 scoreline suggests. Charlie Bick gave the hosts the lead after a quarter of an hour but Shirburnians proved tough opponents and equalised after an hour to force a tense ending to the game.

Commendably, the Blues dug deep and scored two stunning goals in the closing five minutes through Charlie Bick, again, and Ned Callander, to claim the three points and ensure the side climbed above their vanquished opponents.
