Joss Awdry
biography
Having graduated from Durham University and dipped his toes into OHAFC football, Joss took over as 3s skipper from Tom Mitchell for the 2023/24 season and led by superb example on and off the pitch.
Not only did Joss play in all but two of the 3s' 21 League and Cup fixtures, he also turned out three times for the 2nd XI - his total of 22 appearances during the season was the most by any OHAFC player.
Most impressively of all, Joss led the 3s to their first ever Cup final, the DW Trophy, scoring a vital goal in the outstanding 3-2 win away to the Old Brentwoods in the semis. Although the final proved something of an anti-climax, a 1-0 defeat to the Old berkhamstedians 2s in a poor game, a comfortable fifth place finish in Division Four ensured his first term in charge would go down as a huge success.
Sadly, things have proved more of a struggle for Joss since then, with a troublesome knee injury continuing to limit his appearances on the field and his influence off it. Having aggravated the knee again in the early weeks of the 2025/26 season, Joss had been unable to attend any 3s fixtures and has temporarily had to hand ove the reins to Freddie Everett.
