The 2s enjoyed a competitive pre season encounter against Radley on the Harrow School astroturf which ended 2-2 after an encouraging comeback from the hosts in the final 20 minutes.

A squad of 12 assembled for a spritely warm up under the lights, with Ed Nicholson kindly offering to don the gloves after David Griffiths was required for emergency doctoring duties in Woolwich hosptial and was ruled out late on.

In a repeat of last season's pre-season opener the game got off to fast paced start, with both sides competing well for possession and creating a smattering of chances. In a game of 30 minute thirds, however, the first third ended goalless with neither side able to finish a series of half chances.

The middle third saw Radley race into a two goal lead with the first goal resulting largely from an unfortunate collision between hardman Alexi Pittalis and his unlucky right back Michael Brooks.

However, Harrow switched formation for the final 30 - Max Curry now playing up front and Arthur Leney switching to left wing - and with the balance of the side much improved, the hosts created a series of guilt edged chances. Two of these were taken: first by Max Curry, and then by Jack Dolbey.

Max Curry was played through by the impressive Calum Butler - who came off the bench and played well in a series of different positions in midfield and defence - and Curry applied a composed finish to tuck the ball in the bottom right hand corner. For Harrow's second, following good work by Leney down the left, a scuffed ball set Dolbey off between the two Radley centre backs, who did well to claw the ball into his path and place the ball with his unfavoured right foot into the bottom left hand corner, the goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

All in all a very useful pre-season outing with plenty of promising displays from a number of players still relatively new to ohafc. The 2s will continue their pre-season preparations with the intraclub friendly on 7th September, followed by the festiphil on 11th September, with their opening league fixture set to take place on 18th September.
