1st XI cling on to exact revenge on Aldenham

23 Nov 2015

The OHAFC 1st XI survived a dramatic late scare on Saturday afternoon to cling onto their slender lead and record a vital 2-1 win over the struggling Old Aldenhamians.

The side from Hertfordshire are the only team to have beaten the OHAFC 1st XI this campaign and provided another stiff test at the weekend. The hosts took the lead thanks to a David Lederman penalty following a foul on Jack Hill inside the box. The visitors equalised but Harrow regained the lead prior to the break thanks to a superb strike from Bemini Soyinka.

In a strong wind the second half became a war of attrition but it looked as though the Blues had done enough to secure the win when a late free-kick caused problems in the Harrow box and a long range shot rebounded off the underside of the crossbar very close to the goalline. Referee George Patriche waved play on and blew for full-time moments later despite vocal Aldenham protests.

The win sees the OHAFC remain in second in Division One, behind leaders Brentwood only on goal difference.
