1st XI drenched in Lancing goals

4 Oct 2014

The OHAFC 1st XI suffered their second heavy defeat of the season on Saturday, succumbing to a well-oiled Lancing side in pouring rain on the Hill.

Despite an improved display from the opening day defeat to Forest, the home side soon ran out of steam after an excellent opening twenty minutes and found themselves 3-1 down at the break, the Harrow goal coming courtesy of Harry Hoffen charging down the inexplicably clumsy Lancing goalkeeper inside his own penalty area.

Despite plenty of effort, the Blues could not match the quality on the ball of their opponents and although the final scoreline was cruel on the hosts, it was clear the better team had won.

After the game the referee, Lee Addison, sent an email to the AFA / SAL saying both Harrow and Lancing were a total credit to the Arthurian League and that Harrow were great hosts.
