1st XI defiant despite Dunn exit at Charterhouse

29 Oct 2018

The OHAFC put up a valiant display against the Old Carthusians on Saturday, even having the temerity to take the lead with just ten men, but they ended the afternoon defeated, exiting the Arthur Dunn Cup at the first time of asking with a 3-1 defeat.

Following a nightmare build up to the tie, with players pulling out and not arriving on time, the Blues began the game with ten men and took a shock lead thanks to another superb individual effort from James Breeden.

Two crosses from the left either side of the break put the hosts back in charge and in a scrappy second half, with the Blues by now back up to their full complement of eleven players, chances for either side remained at a premium.

A late third saw the result put beyond doubt but credit must go to the eleven who played for putting up such a strong fight against their illustrious opponents.
