1st XI plough on with goals avalanche against Eton

24 Mar 2013

The OHAFC 1st XI secured three vital points against arch rivals Eton on Saturday, in a game played in atrocious conditions on Harrow Hill.

A second half blizzard and lack of the famous orange ball made following the game and seeing the lines on the pitch nigh on impossible, but it failed to deter a Harrow team desperate to get back to winning ways following the heavy Dunn Cup semi-final defeat and last week's mauling at the hands of Charterhouse.

Two first-half goals from Harry Hoffen settled Harrow nerves and the side produced a strong performance against a modest Eton side to create further good chances.

Eton pulled a goal back with just over twenty minutes remaining but the home side hit back almost immediately when Baker latched onto a through-ball to restore the two-goal advantage.

Schoolboy substitute Ogyen Verhagen, making his 1st XI debut, completed the scoring ten minutes from time when he outstripped the Eton back four to calmly slot home the fourth.
