1st XI suffer first defeat of the season to organised Lancing

14 Oct 2012

The OHAFC 1st XI suffered their first setback of the season on Saturday when they were beaten 3-0 by Lancing in tricky conditions at Kingston University's Sports Ground in Kingston.

Despite playing well in a goalless first half, the team never really played with any great conviction in attack against a well-drilled Lancing outfit and the concession of three goals inside fifteen second-half minutes left the visitors with too much to do.

Five players made their first appearances of the season for the side, including debutants David Griffiths, Freddie Coleridge-Cole and Alasdair Dean - all of whom performed creditably.

But with so many changes, the side struggled to find their rhythm and failed to score for the first time since September 2011 and the opening day defeat to Winchester last season.

The side now face two home games, against Forest in the League and against Chigwell in the Dunn Cup - both vital matches in the quest for honours this season.
