1st XI youngsters unlucky in defeat to champions

9 Oct 2016

The youngest, most inexperienced OHAFC 1st XI to take the field for many seasons performed superbly against last season's double-winners the Old Tonbridgians on the Hill on Saturday afternoon, but still came away empty-handed as the visitors took advantage of some defensive errors to earn an undeserved 3-1 win.

Despite dominating for much of the encounter, the hosts were left to rue individual errors that gifted the visitors goals against the run of play. A missed penalty from striker Charlie Stebbings added to the frustration and despite Alex Gilbert pulling a goal back on the hour mark, Tonbridge took advantage of the hosts throwing men forward in the closing stages to score a late third.

The performance bodes well for next week's vital encounter with KCS Wimbledon. The team lineup, which includes a number of new names to look out for throughout the season, as well as a match report from stand-in skipper ALex Breeden are now available in the results section here.
