2s battle to rare goalless draw against Forest

14 Jan 2019

A first goalless draw in ten seasons of OHAFC 2nd XI football was just reward for a battling effort from Geoff Taunton-Collins' side on Saturday afternoon.

Visitors Forest, who had won the return fixture 2-1 in mid-December, nearly scored from their first attack, smashing a shot against the crossbar in the second minute. But once the game settled down it developed into an even contest with both sides enjoying periods on top.

A valuable point for the Blues was earned late on when keeper Fraser McGuinness made a couple of excellent saves to deny the visitors a winner.

The draw keeps the OHAFC in seventh in Division Two but stretches the gap to the three sides below them, all of whom lost, to seven points.

Saturday's team lineup is now available in the results section with the match report due in shortly.
