3s produce fine display to defeat the Columbans

28 Jan 2019

The OHAFC 3rd XI mirored the success of the 1st XI in producing one of their best performances of the season on Saturday, comprehensively beating one of the two sides that had begun the day ahead of them in the Division Four table.

Ninety minutes of football later, the OHAFC 3s, led on this occasion by Alex Smith, had sealed a 3-0 win against the Old Columbans and climbed above them into second in the table. With a return fixture to come against the Columbans, and three sides separated by just two points behind long-time leaders the Old Suttonians, the climax to the promotion race in Division Four promises to be an exciting one.

As usual, Harry Bick and Alex Smith did the damage in Saturday's match, Bick scoring twice to take his tally into double figures from just eight League appearances, Smith, who scored the third with twenty minutes remaining, remaining just a goal ahead of his teammate with fourteen in all competitions.

The 3s return to Junior League Cup action next week with an intriguing tie against Division Two side the Old Westminsters. Saturday's team lineup and match report are now available in the results section here.
