2nd XI: Brunt and Harmsworth shine in Aldenham defeat

16 Feb 2013

The 2nd XI suffered their third league defeat in a row today after a decent Aldenham side came out on top for the second time this season. Chopra released Richardson, Breeden and Robinson to the 3s to boost them for their much needed 4-2 win over Chigwell.

After a good start, the 2s went 1-0 down on 35 minutes after a long throw was poorly dealt with by the Harrow defence. However, during the first half, Harrow saw long periods of possession and put together some excellent passing moves involving Brunt and Amin in midfield.

In the second half Harrow continued to play well but were unlucky to concede when Aldenham scored on the break on 55 mins. Another goal went in on 65 after a second pacey breakaway. The last kick of the game saw Brunt miss from the penalty spot after a challenge on Soyinka. A shame for Brunt as he deserved a goal after his tireless efforts throughout.

A special mention must go to Rupert Harmsworth who endured a fantastic 90 minutes at centre back alongside the solid Maydon.

Next week the side go to the unbeaten Old Citizens in the second round of the JLC.
