Festiphil 2025 won by Owain James' Reds
The twelfth ediition of Festiphil proved a huge success as one of the largest ever turnouts ensured a healthy four-way battle between mixed teams of schoolboys and old boys on Saturday afternoon.
For the first time ever, the tournament was held on the southern side of the Hill, on the Park Lake grass pitch and the superb astroturf, the Phil pitches requiring further work to ensure the cracks caused by the exceptionally dry summer are fully repaired.
As usual, the players were divided into four equal squads with matches lasting half an hour taking place simultaneously on the two pitches. Competition was fierce, with the opening fixture on Park Lake seeing the Blues and Purples settle matters via a penalty shootout, the Blues running out winners.
Come the final round of games, both the Blues and Reds remained unbeaten, the Reds, led by OHAFC 2nd XI striker Owain James, having kept clean sheets in both their first two games. And that record would continue in the de facto final, the Reds running out 2-0 winners to deservedly clinch the title. Star of the show for the schoolboys was midfielder Joba Akande who was named as Young Player of the Tournament.

Following the conclusion of the football, Master in Charge of Soccer Robbie Tominay Nevado and OHAFC Chairman David Lederman spoke before the Headmaster said a few words and handed over the medals to the winning team and the trophy to their skipper.
