Glover double fires 3s to first win of season

14 Dec 2020

The OHAFC 3rd XI earned their first win of the season in fine style on Saturday afternoon, defeating fellow Division Four strugglers the Old Stoics 3-2 on the Phil Ground.

Will Glover was the star of the show, scoring twice to take his tally to four for the season - and top of the OHAFC goalscorers chart. Prior to his pair of left-foot strikes, which came ten minutes apart in the second half, there was an excellent debut goal for Sebastian Mahal, younger brother of Cameron.

But despite leading 3-1 with ten minutes remaining, the Blues were made to sweat for their win, the visitors pulling a late goal back before pressing forwards in search of an equaliser in the closing stages. Thankfully, the OHAFC held on, the first three points of the season sending them all the way up to fourth in the table ahead of the Christmas break.
