Hoffen hat-trick helps hammer helpless Brentwoods

9 Nov 2013

Harry Hoffen hit a hat-trick and the OHAFC 1st XI six in total as they completely overpowered a dishevelled Brentwood outfit on Saturday afternoon to record their biggest win of the season.

It was the perfect riposte to last weekend's unfortunate 3-2 defeat to Repton in the first round of the Arthur Dunn Cup and sees the side climb to third in the table having played only one game against any of the bottom three teams.

Harry Hoffen was undoubtedly the star of the show, striking twice with left-footed efforts in the first twenty minutes before completing his hat-trick with a tap-in minutes from time.

In between, a comical own goal and efforts from Coleridge-Cole and Gilbert helped confirm the comfortable win, with Brentwoods losing two players with injury during the second half.

Remarkably, they scored their consolation when playing with just nine men, a late header from a free-kick denying the Blues their first clean sheet of the season.
