Inter-Club friendly a resounding success

9 Sep 2014

The inter-Club pre-season friendly played last night at Colliers Wood FC in south-west London was a resounding success with 25 OH players enjoying a closely-fought encounter that included some encouraging signs ahead of the new season.

There were a number of new faces present, a necessity given the absence of many regulars from last season due to one reason or another.

1st XI vice-captain Fred Richardson was in charge of proceedings and the players present were split into two squads, the Red Team and Blue Team.

In an entertaining affair the Reds ran out 4-3 winners with perhaps the highlight an unexpected but spectacular strike from 2nd XI right-back Arjun Chopra who fired home on the run from 25 yards out.

Overall the standard of play was high with a number of notable contributions from the younger members. All three OHAFC teams are in action this weekend so it is to be hoped that everyone present can take the form shown on Monday night into the weekend.

In-depth profiles of the new regular OHAFC players will appear on the site over the coming weeks as their roles in the squads become properly defined.
