Jack Alhadeff wins 2020 OH Fantasy League

29 Jul 2020

2nd XI forward Jack Alhadeff has been crowned the 2019/2020 OHAFC Fantasy Premier League champion having led the 25-strong field almost from the very first week of the season.

The 27 year-old, who spent the vast majority of this season working in the United States, earned a total of 2,412 points from the 38 game weeks - only the third time the magic 2400-point barrier has been broken by an OHAFC player. That score saw him finish 1,592nd out of over 7 million players who took part around the world this season.

Jack finished 120 points ahead of reigning champion Ed Poulter, a familiar face at the top of the leaderboard given the amount of time and energy the former 1s's skipper puts into his Fantasy League efforts. James Breeden finished third, his Scotty McSauce team earning 2250 pts, with two former champions rounding out the top five: the lesser-spotted Conti von Hirsch came fourth with 2228 pts and 2018 champ Arjun Chopra finished fifth with 2216 pts.

At the other end of the table, three 1st XI players showed that they are better with their boots than their brains: Alex Breeden finished 23rd with 1804 pts, just pipping Oli Acar by four points, with George Gould earning the wooden spoon with just a paltry 1682 pts - his team selection in the final week, which included a number of injured players, suggested he had long since given up the ghost...
