New 3rd XI leadership group announced!

2 Jul 2026

The Club is delighted to announce the appointment of a brand new leadership group for the 3rd XI.

Following last season’s struggles that saw the side relegated into Division Five, and a sustained lack of availability in the second half of the campaign, a lengthy discussion was held at the AGM to determine whether or not the side should continue, either as a full League side or just as a Cup team. Following the debate, a vote was duly held and it was decided to continue with the 3rd XI as a full League outfit, assuming a fresh leadership group willing to take up the challenge could be found.

We are delighted that 3s stalwart Henry Collins has agreed to take over as skipper for next season, with younger players Sam Dunn and James Gibbens as his two vice-captains. We are also extremely grateful to both Roger Litton and Hugo Morrell-Roberts for their interest in helping the side going forwards. The Club believes that with this group in place, a new generation of younger OHs can be attracted to play for the 3s and maintain the healthy pool of players available every Saturday.

The 3s return to Division Five for the first time since 2018 but are unlikely to find the drop in level provides many easy games. No fewer than five 1st XIs will feature on the 3s’ fixture list, including the return of the famous Old Malvernians, a powerhouse in the 1980s and early 90s and the only new club to enter the Arthurian League this season, the Old St Edwardians. Bradfield and Merchant Taylors both now field 2nd XIs, as do the Old Salopians. The OHAFC will play sixteen League fixtures and enter the DW Trophy, the same as last season.

The Club congratulates Henry, Sam and James on their appointments and wishes them all the best for the season ahead!
