OHAFC present themselves to boys in Speech Room

The Harrow Association again invited all of the existing Harrow affiliated clubs to the Hill for another attempt to persuade the final year leavers to join their respective clubs.

James Virgin introduced 11 Harrow Association clubs, ranging from business clubs like the property club and the entrepreneurs club to some of the other sporting clubs, including the golf, sailing and aviation society.

OHAFC decided to send their most statesmanlike and least busy member, departing 2s skipper Jack Orr-Ewing. With only three minutes available to sell the myriad virtues of the club, Orr-Ewing needed to be brief. He explained the three squad system, including a first second and third XI of varying standards, then encouraged the boys to sign up during their university time and play a couple of fixtures for the club before becoming more committed members if they moved to London.

The boys were encouraged to visit the website for more information, leading to an impromptu request from Orr-Ewing that the website be brought up by the man closest to the projector. This turned out to be ill-advised given that the hapless Mouse-Man decided to click on the new story involving Woolley's spurious winning of the recent Marbella tour weird list. As the boys were informed how to sign up to the club, including the £50 sign up fee to cover their first five years membership of the club, they looked on in a bewildered manner at the enlarged photo of the experienced left back standing with his sleeves exposed and scrawny arms flashing in the moonlight. A few puzzled expressions glared back at Orr-Ewing as he explained the finer details of the subscription model, no doubt caused by the boys trying to ascertain what it was exactly that Woolley had won just a few weeks earlier.

Nevertheless an impression was made and the club hope that a number of boys will decide to show their interest and make themselves available during the next couple of seasons.
