On this weekend...

6 Dec 2013

Continuing our look back through the OHAFC archives at games played on this weekend last season, three seasons ago and five seasons ago...

Last Season: December 8th 2012

1st XI: Beat Tonbridge 4-3 on the Hill in the Arthur Dunn Cup second round in a topsy-turvy game. The visitors, whom Harrow had already beaten 8-0 in the League earlier in the season, dominated the early proceedings and scored a deserved opener on fifteen minutes.

The home side turned the game around before the break with two excellent goals, both scored by Nick Defty, supplied by David Lederman. They were fortunate to score a third right on half-time, against the run of play, when Paul Molloy turned in an Ed Poulter long throw that was flicked on by Johan Harder.

Tonbridge scored a controversial second five minutes after the break to reduce the arrears to 3-2 but substitute Charlie Stebbings came off the bench to fire home and supposedly seal the tie.

Tonbridge continued to threaten however and after missing a penalty following a soft foul given against Ed Poulter, scored a few minutes later to set up a tense finish.

The home side held on however to seal their place in the last eight.

2nd XI: No fixture

3rd XI: Lost 2-0 at Old Eastbournians in a close game, the home side scoring early on but then were made to wait until the 85th minute to seal the points against a battling Harrow team. The game marked the return to action of striker Oli Malin-Hyams, who hadn't pulled on an OHAFC shirt for several years.

Three Seasons Ago: December 10th 2011

1st XI: Beat Chigwell 2-1 at home in the League in an ugly performance that saw all the goals scored in the final fifteen minutes.

With several key players unavailable the home side struggled to dominate, having the better of the early exchanges but then being forced onto the back foot in the second half.

Harrow opened the scoring thanks to a Harry Hoffen volley from a long throw on 72 minutes but conceded almost immediately, Raffety in the Harrow goal spilling a cross-shot that fell kindly for the visitors.

The winner came with eight minutes remaining, Harry Hoffen latching onto a long clearance down the right before squaring for Luke de Rougemont to score first-time.

Alex Breeden had earlier come off the bench to make his 1st XI debut.

2nd & 3rd XI: No fixtures
