Ed Poulter appointed the new 1st XI Captain

17 May 2012

Right-back Ed Poulter has been appointed as the new captain of the OHAFC 1st XI: he was the resounding choice among the squad following discussions which took place earlier in the week.

The 31 year-old, who has now played for the club for seven seasons, takes on the difficult job of replacing Quentin Baker, who held the position for a record fourteen seasons.

Nevertheless, with the backing of the squad, all of whom are likely to be available for the 2012/13 season, the transition should be a smooth one.

Ed will be aided in his duties by Fred Richardson, who was also selected by his peers to continue in his role as vice-captain.

With the continuing presence of veteran players such as Baker, Lederman, Molloy and Harry Hoffen, there is now a strong leadership team in place going forward into the new season.
