Scheduling of El Clasico matches finally agreed

22 Oct 2013

The LFP, the Spanish equivalent of the Premier League, and the Arthurian League have finally come to an agreement on the kick-off times for this weekend's El Clasico matches.

There had been fears that millions of fans around the world would be deprived of seeing their favourite players in action due to the unusual early scheduling of Barcelona versus Real Madrid coinciding with the OHAFC hosting the Old Etonians.

Thankfully however, common sense has now prevailed and the LFP have shifted the clash of the Spanish giants to 5pm BST, with the Harrow v Eton game remaining in it's 2pm slot.

Both games will be televised live on Sky in what is being termed 'Seriously Super Saturday'.

The prospect of seeing Messi, Ronaldo, Bale, Neymar, Hoffen, Richardson and Phil Berry all in action in the space of one afternoon has got football fans around the world salivating.

Barney Francis, the managing director of Sky Sports, told ohafc.com: "We are delighted to bring these two top drawer clashes live to football fans around the country. Rarely do we get the chance to showcase the best the Arthurian League and La Liga have to offer on the same day, but this date has been pencilled in my diary for some time."

Rumours surfaced today that even the Harrow tea lady was feeling the excitement and in honour of the La Liga clash, was preparing a Spanish themed post-match tea with bocadillos, tortilla de chorizo and Fanta Lemon replacing the standard sandwiches, quiche Lorraine and lemon squash.

You can follow all the build-up to the Arthurian League El Clasico right here, with interviews with some of the key players and a statistical breakdown of where the game is likely to be won and lost to follow in the next few days.
