Sizzling hot Curry fires 2's to 5-0 win

1 Nov 2014

A Max Curry hat-trick helped the OHAFC 2nd XI maintain their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable 5-0 win over Malvern 2's on the Hill on Saturday morning.

The game was notable not only for the excellent performance and victory but also for the setting of a new record: never before in OHAFC history have three sets of brothers appeared on the pitch together for the same team. Jack and Will Orr-Ewing both started the game and after twenty minutes they were then joined by two other sets of brothers, Oli and Max Curry and Conti and Tassilo von Hirsch.

Harrow, playing in red to avoid a clash with Malvern's Barcelona-like strip, opened the scoring after twenty minutes when Geoff Taunton-Collins crossed for Oli Curry, making his Club debut, to tap in from close range.

Minutes later Oli's older brother made an immediate impact when he scored from close range with his first touch after coming off the bench.

The hosts made a strong start to the second half, scoring twice inside ten minutes to kill the game off as a contest: both the Currys combined to produce a most spicy goal before Lederman then turned in a cross from another debutant and another younger brother, Tass von Hirsch.

The fifth goal was a fine volleyed finish by Curry senior following a fortuitous ricochet off Azhar Khan.

The win takes the Harrow second in Division Three albeit some way behind runaway leaders Berkhamsted. A full match report and team lineup can now be viewed in the Results section.
