Superb 1st XI earn vital win over Lancing

15 Mar 2014

The OHAFC 1st XI produced their best performance of the season on Saturday to defeat title-chasing Lancing 2-1 and dispel, for now, any threat of relegation.

Circumstances on the morning of the game dealt the OH's a cruel hand, with skipper Ed Poulter delayed abroad and vice-captain Fred Richardson forced to work at late notice.

But the bare eleven who did turn out for the final home game of the season produced a disciplined, energetic performance to turn around a 1-0 deficit at the break and score two fine goals in the second half before valiantly defending the lead in the closing stages.

The win, coupled with Chigwell's loss, means the OHAFC should be one win from confirming Premier Division status next season.
