Thumbs Up for 1st XI after 3-0 win over Brentwood

5 Jan 2013

The OHAFC 1st XI began 2013 with an encouraging 3-0 win over close rivals Brentwood on Harrow Hill on Saturday.

The game, which marked the return to first team duty of former skipper Quentin Baker, followed the pattern of recent 1's games, with the Blues superior in the first half but tailing off in the second.

Fortunately however the home side had accrued a two-goal cushion by the break thanks to a free-kick from Johan Harder and a penalty from David Lederman. The second half saw the Harrow back four soak up much of what the visitors could throw at them, but they were indebted to a superb penalty save from Luke Raffety with twenty minutes to go to maintain the cushion.

Lederman settled matters with a second penalty shortly before the end, Bourke's strong run having been abruptly ended by a WWE style bodycheck from a Brentwood centre-half.

A full report and lineup from the game can now be seen in the Results section.
