Division One looms as 1st XI woes continue

22 Mar 2015

An untidy game of football played on a poor pitch in Essex saw the OHAFC 1st XI lose out 4-2 to second-placed Forest on Saturday and in the process ensure that only a minor miracle would prevent a first relegation for the team for several decades.

A strong wind, blowing down the narrow, uneven pitch, helped the hosts in the first half and they led through two goals following crosses into the Harrow box. In between, Jack Hill scored with a superb long-range strike to temporarily make the score 1-1.

Alex Breeden flicked in an Ed Poulter free-kick minutes into the second half to give the visitors hope, but two further set-piece goals gifted the hosts the win, ensuring the Blues stay rooted to the foot of the table.

Two games remain and nothing short of two wins will give the team a chance of staying in the Premier Division next season.
