Vets to face Forest in Cup semi-final on March 23rd

29 Jan 2014

The OHAFC Vets, fresh from their magnificent 4-3 win at Charterhouse on Sunday, didn't have long to wait to find out who their opponents will be in the semi-finals when the League posted details of the other quarter-final in their half of the draw later that day.

Forest defeated current holders Lancing on penalties following a 2-2 draw and will host the OHAFC Vets on Sunday March 23rd at Forest School for a place in the final.

John Wyn-Evans' men played both teams in the Cup last season, being thrashed 6-1 at Lancing in the first round of the Cup before defeating Forest 5-3 in the Plate competition.

The two month wait until the tie is due to be played should bode well for the side, with long-term injuries to key players Quentin Baker and Harry Hoffen given plenty of time to heal. Paul Molloy is another who should be fit again once the semi-final is due to take place.

Harrow reached the final of the Cup in 2012, defeating Forest 3-0 thanks to a Quentin Baker hat-trick. Last season, following their first round defeat to Lancing, the side went on to contest the final of the Plate competition but came away empty-handed as Eton won a penalty shootout following a number of Harrow misses in normal time.
