Weekend Round-Up: 3s march on

1 Nov 2022

The OHAFC 3rd XI secured a third consecutive League win on Saturday, coming from a goal down to beat the Old Ardinians 2s 3-1 on the Hill in the first ever meeting between the sides.

Ardinians opened the scoring via a header from their giant centre forward midway through the first half, but the Blues hit back, Luke Berry and Adam Graham converting crosses from Olly Roberts to make it 2-1 at the break. The game was settled inside a ten-minute spell in the second half, Harrow skipper Tom Mitchell making a superb save at one end before Jamie Jordache converted a re-taken penalty at the other following a handball.

The victory lifts the Blues into third in Division Four ahead of their fixture against second-placed Haberdashers next weekend.

Meanwhile, the OHAFC 2nd XI saw their four-game unbeaten run in Division Two ended by a strong Alleynians 2s side on the Phil.

The visitors started strongly, scoring twice before the break courtesy of two vastly different goals - the first a goalmouth scramble following a header than hit the crossbar, the second a superb long-range effort that flew into the top corner.

But the 2s were much improved after the break, pinning the Alleynians inside their own half for long periods. Disappointingly, the hosts failed to break down a stubborn Dulwich back four and finished the game empty-handed. The 2s sit seventh in Division Two and now enjoy a two-week break.

Team sheets and reports from both games are now available in the results section.
