Weekend Round-Up: 1s end season in style
The final set of fixtures before the Easter Weekend saw both the OHAFC 1s and 2s in action, with the 1s ending their season in style.
The Blues had never beaten the Old Kimboltonians prior to Saturday, but that changed courtesy of late goals from Arthur Leney and skipper Dan Firoozan, who ended his reign in charge of the side in fitting style, firing home in the last minute to snatch a 2-1 victory.
The 1s currently sit in fifth in Division One and are likely to finish no lower than sixth with several sides below them still yet to complete their seasons.
The news from Chigwell wasn't so encouraging however as the OHAFC 2s fell to a heavy 5-0 defeat. The visitors missed a couple of glorious early opportunities to take the lead when top scorer Andy Hutchinson failed to hit the target with just the keeper to beat.
Chigs made sure their opponents were made to pay when they scored three excellent goals prior to half-time. The second half proved more competitive but the Blues struggled to create many clear-cut openings and two individual errors at the back ensured the final score took on a rather one-sided look.
The 2s still have two fixtures remaining, both of which will be played on the weekends following Easter.
Saturday's team sheets and match reports are now available in the results section.
