Weekend Round-Up: 1s win well, 3s earn a point
With the OHAFC 2nd XI's fixture away to Westminsters not taking place due to a mix-up over the pitch timings, only the 1s and 3s ended up playing on Saturday, both of them putting in solid performances.
The OHAFC 1st XI enjoyed an excellent 4-1 win at home to the Old Kimboltonians on the Harrow School astroturf. Dan Firoozan and George Taylor scored before the break to earn the hosts a deserved 2-0 lead.
But the visitors responded after the break and made things interesting when they pulled a goal back with a quarter of an hour remaining. Thankfully, a penalty from Jamie Jordache and a second from skipper Firoozan in the final five minutes ensured there was to be no comeback. The 1s climb to fourth in Division One as a result.
Over on the Phil, the 3s battled hard to secure a 1-1 draw at home to the Old Salopians 2s. Harry Scott saw his penalty saved just before half-time but he made amends ten minutes into the second half, running through to slot home the opener.
But Salopians fought back well and deservedly equalised fifteen minutes from time. Neither side could find a late winner, the 3s dropping one spot to fifth in Division Five.
