Weekend Round-Up: 2s bounce back
The OHAFC 2nd XI returned to winning ways in style down in Kent but there were heavy defeats for both the 1st and 3rd XIs on a busy weekend of Arthurian League football.
Having lost their previous two fixtures to the top two sides in Division Three it was imperative the OHAFC 2s got their season back on track away to the Old Tonbridgian 2s on Saturday morning and they Blues responded in style, an early Tristan David goal and a superb second-half hat-trick from Andy Hutchinson earning the visitors a 4-0 win and ensuring the side remain in the top half of the table with seven points from five games played.
Back on the Hill, the 1st XI were facing a difficult task with the visit of Division One leaders the Old Foresters. Despite playing well for the majority of the game, the Blues fell behind to a freakish strike after twenty minutes and two goals inside the final twenty minutes ensured a 3-0 win for the visitors that keeps them firmly on track for promotion back to the top flight whilst the Blues remain solidly in mid-table.
Finally, the OHAFC 3rd XI fell to a disappointing 4-0 defeat away to the Old Johnians 2s on the astroturf in Hampton. The visitors played well in the first half and missed several chances but fell behind a minute before the break. But the second half proved a different story and the Blues unravelled somewhat as the Johnians scored three times in the final half-hour. The 3s remain winless and rooted to the foot of the Division Four table.
Team sheets and match reports from all three games are now available in the results section.
