Weekend Round-Up: Rugbeians knock 1s out of Dunn Cup

27 Oct 2025

The OHAFC 1st XI were knocked out of the Arthur Dunn Cup on Saturday afternoon at the first hurdle, losing 1-0 to fellow Division One side the Old Rugbeians.

In a tight, tense Cup tie, a depleted Blues team played well in the first half and missed a couple of glorious chances to open the scoring. But the Rugbeians responded strongly after the break and scored the only goal of the game after an hour, a long ball over the top allowing the striker to cut inside past Ed Nicholson and round keeper Tom Mitchell for a simple tap in.

Despite throwing men forwards in the closing stages, the Blues failed to muster a chance of note and travelled back down to London having once more failed to make it past round one - the fifth time in six seasons an early exit has befallen the team.

Saturday's team sheet and match report are now available in the results section.
