Kyri Pittalis

biography

Kyri made his debut for the Club in the 2nd XI with a 2-1 home defeat to Old Salopian II's in January 2015. The ex-Durham stopper fortuitously made himself available in the week that long-term ‘keeper Alistair Pritchard decided to hang up his gloves.

Although not the tallest goalkeeper at just 5' 10" tall, Kyri is a very consistent performer between the sticks, equally adept at dealing with crosses and shots. His kicking is solid and he is an excellent communicator, always instructing his defence when under pressure.

After a solid debut season, Kyri established himself as first choice for the 2s and was elected vice-captain by skipper Geoff Taunton-Collins for the 2016/17 season.

He was also appointed Hon. Fixture Secretary in May 2016 and helped the 2s in their promotion campaign into Division Two, playing in nine of the 14 League matches and keeping one clean sheet at home to Salopians 2s.

In Division Two the following season, the 2s struggled but Kyri remained a strong presence between the posts. His availability was excellent and he was present when the side kept their first clean sheet of the season in the superb 1-0 over Westminsters in late January.
