1s thrashed by Salopians after poor start

12 Dec 2016

Life for the OHAFC 1st XI in the Premier Division of the Arthurian League was made that bit harder on Saturday afternoon when the side suffered an unexpected mauling at the hands of the Old Salopians, the team who had started the day just below them in the table.

With both camps well aware of the importance of the fixture a good start was imperative but Harrow were blown away in the first fifteen minutes when the visitors scored three breakaway goals.

A header from a corner and an own goal gave Shrewsbury an unassailable 5-0 lead and Alex Gilbert's fortunate effort with minutes remaining couldn't even be termed a consolation.

Harrow slip below Shrewsbury into 8th in the Premier Division table but have played more games than the sides around them. Eight games remain in the first half of 2017 for the Blues to try to preserve Premier Division status.

The team lineup from Saturday is now available in the results section with the match report to follow shortly.
