10-man 1st XI earn late draw in farcical game

13 Apr 2014

For the second game running an OHAFC 1st XI player was taken to hospital but despite having to play the whole of the second half with barely ten fit men, Ed Poulter's side recovered remarkably from a 2-goal deficit to score in the final minute and earn an unlikey 2-2 draw away to the Old Salopians.

Fred Milln suffered a perforated ear drum when he was challenged from behind whilst heading clear from a corner right on the half-time whistle, falling heavily on the left side of his face. With Harry Woolley suffering a badly sprained ankle and no substitutes, prospects looked bleak for the visitors, especially when they fell two goals down on the hour.

But Johan Harder twice converted crosses from David Lederman inside the final twenty minutes, the second in the last minute, to earn an unlikely point.

The full match report of a fairly farcical end-of-season game is now up in the Results section.
